Originally from Indonesia, nutmeg has been used since the Middle Ages for its organoleptic and therapeutic properties.

Nutmeg mace, which is less well known, is the natural shell of walnuts. It is also called aril, or nutmeg flower. Its superb colors, from orange-yellow to bright red, are harbingers of an incredible fragrance. It is more precise, more refined than that of walnuts, but also more powerful, with a spicy and peppery side.
