And for good reason! These vanilla beans from the Tahitensis variety have characteristics of their own. First of all, they are impressive: a humidity level of about 40%, extremely large, supple and fleshy pods.

But even more interesting, it is their aromatic profile that is atypical! While a bourbon vanilla bean of the Planifolia type (vanilla from Madagascar for example) will have cocoa and fruity notes, and a strong emphasis on gluttony, Tahitian vanilla is more complex.
